Notoriously elusive and hard to pin down—just what is ectoplasm? Blending speculative enquiry with spiritual misadventure, Cosmic Goo takes a playful swipe at this slippery, shape-shifting subject, tracing an understandably unreliable account of haunted Victorian tissue-emanations through the aesthetics of high-street slime and lo-fi magic tricks.Shot in-camera on 16mm and Super 8, with cameraless sequences made directly on film using fire, nettles, seeds and foraged plants.
