Cosmic goo: A short film about ectoplasm
UK & Netherlands, 2026, 11 min 43 sec, 16mm & Super 8 transferred to digital
Notoriously elusive and hard to pin down - just what is ectoplasm? Cosmic Goo takes a playful swipe at this slippery, shape-shifting subject. Blending speculative enquiry with tales of spiritual misadventure, we find ourselves downwind from the burps of a qi master, surviving an ill-fated religious singles night, before being kicked out of a Scientology personality test. Remember, this is a quest taken on your behalf!
The film traces an understandably unreliable account of ectoplasm, encountering psychics and haunted Victorian tissue-emanations along the way - journeying from the high-street slime of London through spectral film surfaces, dust and chemical apparitions.
